Imagine fleeing for your life, haunted by the gaze of the pet you love. Would you have the heart to walk away? In the heart of war-torn Ukraine, while millions seek refuge, some choose to stay. They remain the only hope for the voiceless—protecting the innocent creatures who cannot ask for help, but whose eyes say everything.

Animals Facing Fear

The documentary Us, Our Pets and the War takes us to meet animals left behind in abandoned homes. Tigers, lions, and zoo animals face their fates alone.

Amidst the explosions and fear, we see people clutching their pets tightly among the ruins, and volunteers risking their lives to rescue those still trapped.

War not only strips everything away from humans; it inflicts suffering upon animals who understand nothing of the conflict.

Hope Amidst the Darkness

The most beautiful element of this documentary is witnessing how humans still choose to save animals, even at great personal risk.

It tells the stories of ordinary people fighting for these creatures, including the brave Ukrainian K9, "Patron," a Jack Russell Terrier who has detected over 50 explosive devices.

He has become a symbol of hope and an inspiration for the people of Ukraine and the entire world.

Images Hard to Forget

Us, Our Pets and the War reveals another brutal side of conflict: why must innocent animals become victims?

Images of dogs waiting for owners who may never return, cats hiding in collapsed buildings, or lions caged without care.

That illustrates the utter helplessness of animals. It serves as a powerful reminder that their lives and their value are no different from our own.
